- Research into voluntary eco-labelling in New Zealand, 2004
- Research into oceans management at the local level in NZ
- Review of New Zealand’s RMA coastal management regime (for Australian Oceans Office)
Policy development and implementation advice
- Preparation of a discussion document on a potential national environmental standard on sea level rise under the RMA, 2009
- Preparation of a guide on policy evaluation (for regional councils), 2008
- Evaluation of the effectiveness of the Waikato Regional Policy Statement (for Environment Waikato)
- Preparation/peer review of a national (QP) guidelines on section 32, hazardous substances and biodiversity under the RMA.
Environmental reporting
- Member of the management team and editorial panel for the preparation of the Auckland regional state of the environment report, 2009.
- Authored the second state of the Hauraki Gulf report for the Hauraki Gulf Forum, 2008
- Led inter-agency team to prepare first state of the Hauraki Gulf Report for the Hauraki Gulf Forum.
