Presentation of expert evidence to the Auckland Independent Hearings Panel on development capacity 2015-2016
Scope:
- Undertook analysis of the degree of consistency between the Auckland Plan development strategy and the capacity for dwellings development provided in the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan (PAUP), particularly in relation to the South sub-region.
- Found that whilst overall development capacity is estimated to exceed projected regional demand in simple volumetric terms, there is a major gap between the price at which houses will be commercially feasible and their affordability for future households.
