Independently Audited Self-Management
A thinkpiece on the use of primary sector environmental management programmes within the Resource Management Act framework.
Scope:
Authored a "thinkpiece” report for the Ministry for Primary Industries on independently audited self-management (ASM) and how it might beused by the primary sector within the Resource Management Act (RMA) context. The report was motivated by the belief that ASM may offer an alternative approach toincentivising the "right” behaviour across parts of the primary production sector and,in so doing have the dual advantages of avoid duplicating costs faced by producers and achieve more systemic behavioural change.
